Some amendments were proposed to the initiative signed by Pour l’Autonomie
The process in the Regional Council of the bill on the appointment of the general manager of the USL Valle d’Aosta. The text deposited by the Pour l’Autonomie group is currently being examined by the V Commission, which is responsible for social services.
Some hearings were held today in the Commission, including that of the regional councilor for health, health and social policies.
“The legislative initiative for the appointment of the director of the USL has been enriched by a series of amendments by the various groups”, says Mauro Baccega (PlA), who chaired the first part of the Commission meeting. “The goal – he adds – is to make a good law to give a future of greater tranquility to the Usl company”.
In recent days, the regional government has appointed a commissioner for the Aosta Valley health company, Massimo Uberti. Uberti comes after a troubled period for the USL, which began a few years ago with a series of appeals and counter-claims in the administrative field on the appointment of the former director Rubbo which led to the company’s commissioner in via Guido Rey. Angelo Michele Pescarmona, chosen three years ago to lead the USL as commissioner, then remained at the top of the company until last June, when, six months after passing from commissioner to general manager, he opted to move to Turin .
Autonomie had recently presented a resolution to the Regional Council on the appointment of the top management of the Pour healthcare company. The text stressed the need to appoint a director rather than a commissioner. “The appointment of a commissioner, unless all suitable resign, can generate heavy disputes”, explained the resolution referring to the list of suitable for the position of managing director already existing.
The resolution addressed to the councilor for health recalled the interventions of “regional councilors, councilors, trade unions and above all the inter-union of the trade unions of the medical management, who complained of the need to be able to dialogue with a director general, rather than with a commissioner . The same letter that his unions of medical managers made, we know well not shared by many, to protect his appointment as councilor and to ask politics not to interfere ».
The bill on the appointment of top-level figures of the USL was “positively evaluated by medical, confederal, sector, hospital doctors” unions, added the resolution of the PlA which asked for the appointment, which then did not take place, within 15 days of a general manager for the Aosta Valley health company.
