In the Encuentro interview with Julio Villagrán, conducted by Marvin Aguilar, the president of the Medical College, Doctor Iván Solano, expressed that as a collegiate entity they have been in favor of there being certification of specialties and subspecialties of doctors, and that they defend what says article 68 of the constitution of the republic where the person responsible is the Superior Council of Public Health through the oversight boards of the health profession.
““The public health council has not been given the necessary tools, but instead of giving them the tools they are creating a new entity, now is the opportunity to let the council carry out the certification of medical specialties.”says the president of the Medical College.
The doctor also expressed that as a Medical College it offers continuing medical education as a benefit, being one of the functions of the college, highlighting that the country has always lacked a national health plan, highlighting that current politicians believe that they have solutions to the system. of health without being properly advised.
“As long as we do not have a national health plan and as long as the politicians in power think that they have the magic wand to solve health problems and do not seek advice, it will be difficult for the health system to solve the problems they face,” Solano mentions.
The referee affirms that they are not a partisan political institution and that they are only interested in health policies, hoping that the current government’s proposals will have a true impact. However, they point out that the new law they want to approve is to create an entity that is above of the Medical College.
