Banca delle Terre venete allocates 200 thousand euros in scholarships for young members

The Bank’s Board of Directors, given the extraordinary participation but above all considering the particular period that the world of scholastic and academic training is going through, has decided to increase the initially fixed ceiling and thus accept all requests.

TREVISO. Great success for the call for scholarships launched last December by Banca delle Terre Venete, whose Board of Directors has decided to double the sum made available, thus touching the 200 thousand euros paid out.

The initiative of the Venetian BCC aims to support and gratify the younger generations with the destination of scholarships and scholarships of merit to members or children of members who have particularly distinguished themselves in the school and academic year 2019/2020.

Within the deadlines set by the regulations, the Institute received a total of 283 valid applications, of which 157 from the Treviso area and 126 from the Vicenza area.

The Bank’s Board of Directors, given the extraordinary participation but above all considering the particular period that the world of scholastic and academic training is going through, has decided to increase the initially fixed ceiling and thus to accept all the requests received.

Specifically, the disbursement, which provides for scholarships and awards of increasing amounts between € 300 and € 1800, doubles: from the total € 100 thousand initially allocated to € 198 thousand.

The main destination, equal to 95 thousand euros, is that aimed at supporting the recognition of 56 master’s degree graduates, of which 38 with honors.

The remaining approximately 100,000 euros are divided equally between the best high school and university students, graduates from lower and upper secondary schools, as well as three-year and master’s degree graduates, to which a doctorate is added.

“We want to send a strong message of closeness and gratification to almost 300 young people from Treviso and Vicenza” underlines the President of Banca delle Terre Venete Gianfranco Sasso, “Our territory is confirmed as a place of extraordinary excellence also in studies and we want to reaffirm the centrality of the school and the university, two pillars from which to start again. On a personal basis and in the name of the entire Board of Directors, I express my pride in being able to support the training and life path of these young people. To all the winners, right now, our applause and sincere wishes for their future reach: the company needs them ».

Pietro Pignata, Deputy Vice President of Banca delle Terre Venete also expressed satisfaction:

«Supporting the personal growth of the younger generations has always been a fundamental part of our Cooperative Credit DNA. Today, bringing the ceiling of this project to almost 200 thousand euros, we are probably going against the tide, but we confirm the centrality of those values ​​that at Banca delle Terre Venete are expressed in initiatives of concrete help for training, volunteering, culture and sport. Our Bcc will continue to pursue them also in the next few years ».

To testify the commitment of the Institute towards the territory there is also the destination, in the 2020 budget approved by the shareholders’ meeting last April 30, of 400 thousand euros in support of charitable activities that will be carried out in the course of 2021 in the territories of the provinces of Vicenza and Treviso.

The progress of the vaccination campaign and the consequent improvement of the pandemic situation have allowed the Institute to organize, for Wednesday 23 June at 8 pm at the Teatro Comunale di Vicenza, an award ceremony in the presence of the recipients of the scholarships. The evening, also conceived as an opportunity for growth and comparison for the young winners on the theme of environmental, social and economic sustainability, will be enriched by the Talk of Taxi 1729, entitled “(in) sustainable choices”.
