It is a bad story of psychological and physical violence that emerges from the harrowing complaint of a 77-year-old woman, resident in a village of Castellana, who only after 54 years of marriage and 53 of mistreatment, decided to break the silence enshrined in this way. at home for a long time and sue her husband over eighty, born in 1938.
The charge, formulated by the prosecutor, speaks of ill-treatment that lasted from 1968 until a few months ago and in September the affair will land before the judge of the preliminary hearings Gianluigi Zulian. The prosecutor, given the gravity of the complaint and the red code that requires an acceleration of investigations, has already requested the indictment of the accused.
A 53-year silence
Singular, the investigators themselves say, that a woman after so many years decides to report the fact. The hidden secret

From when she got married in 1967 to when, a few months after the wedding, she surprised her husband in the bedroom, where the cradle of the first born newborn was, with the genitals exposed while touching the newborn in the private parts. Since then, as if the woman had violated a secret from her husband, physical, verbal and psychological violence began. “Other similar events have not happened and I have not brought the child to visit because I did not consider it necessary, but since then the mistreatment of me has begun,” the woman told investigators.

“In all these years I have never confided to anyone the violence suffered, not even to my children,” continued the woman. Violence consisting of daily vulgar offenses, beatings and tugging, as well as threats to kill her.
The family economic situation, precipitated in recent years, the continuous arguments for money and the growing violence within the home have led the old woman to go to the nearest police station and report her husband for mistreatment in the family.
The complaint
The complaint triggered a criminal proceeding which, thanks to the Red Code, a legislation that protects gender-based violence and which takes precedence over other crimes, quickly came to the conclusion of the investigations and the request for indictment of the accused (defended by office by the lawyer Sebastiano Coletti).
