Last Friday, April 12, 25 coffee growers from Chaguarpamba continued their preparation at the agricultural training school, a project developed by the Prefecture of Loja in collaboration with the GAD Chaguarpamba.
During the training, topics such as the opportune timing of the coffee harvest and the application of biological products to control the borer were addressed.
This training has generated great interest among Chaguarpamba coffee producers, both among those who have been growing coffee for years and those who have renewed their coffee plantations this year, mainly using coffee produced in the municipal nursery.
Thanks to the Environmental Management coordination of the GAD Chaguarpamba, it was possible to distribute around 50,000 coffee seedlings that were planted throughout the canton this year. With this planting, it is expected to harvest around 40 tons of specialty coffee in its first production. (YO)
