At 16.45 today, Sunday 29 August, 5,959 new Coronavirus positives were recorded (-901 day by day: yesterday they were 6,860) detected by the daily bulletin released by the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection. The total of those currently infected thus reaches 141,047 units. The data was processed on the basis of the results of 223,086 swabs carried out in the last 24 hours against 293,464 on Friday (as always, both rapid antigenic tests and molecular swabs are considered in the count). The “positive rate”, that is the ratio between the total number of swabs carried out and those that are positive, thus stood at 2.7% (yesterday it was 2.3%). The deaths, in the last 24 hours, have been 37 (-17 day on day), for a total of 129,093 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.
Of the more than 140,000 Italians currently positive, 4,133 are hospitalized with symptoms in ordinary hospital wards (yesterday they were 4,111) and 525 in intensive care units (+14, they were 511). The subjects kept under medical observation in home isolation are instead 136,389 (+1,583, they were 134,806). The total of those discharged and healed reached 4,260,106.

In Lazio 349 new cases (-98) and five deaths
“Today out of over 5 thousand swabs in Lazio and over 12 thousand antigenic for a total of almost 18 thousand tests, 349 new positive cases are recorded (-98), 105 cases less than on Sunday 22 August, 5 deaths (+ 3), 441 hospitalized (-16), 72 intensive care (+1), 541 recovered. The ratio of positives to swabs is 1.9%. The cases in Rome city are at 127 ”. This was communicated by the councilor for Health and Social and Health Integration of the Lazio Region, Alessio D’Amato. “On 1 September we will reach 4 million citizens who have completed the vaccination process. The result is similar to Denmark with a population similar to Lazio ”, concluded the commissioner.
In Sardinia 283 new infections and 1 death
In Sardinia today there are 283 further confirmed cases of Covid-19 positivity on the basis of 2,608 people tested. A total of 3,230 tests were processed, including molecular and antigenic. There is 1 death of an 82-year-old woman residing in the metropolitan city of Cagliari. This is what emerges from the regional bulletin, according to which 21 patients hospitalized in intensive care units are (+1 compared to yesterday). The Sardinians with coronavirus symptoms in the medical area amount to 237 (3 fewer in 24 hours). There are 7,782 cases of home isolation (+54 in one day).
Campania: 431 positives, one death
In Campania, there are 431 positive cases for Covid out of 15,652 tests carried out. The incidence rate is slightly down: yesterday it was 3.31%, today it is 2.75%. Deaths are also falling, with only one patient dead (three victims were recorded yesterday). With regard to the situation in hospitals, 19 beds are occupied in intensive care (-1); 358 (+6) are in hospital.
