Embrace the world and create a better future-20 years of China’s entry into the WTO from the perspective of the China International Import Expo_Hangzhou

The 4th China International Import Expo by Xinhuanet coincides with the important node of the 20th anniversary of China’s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). At the current CIIE, China announced new measures to expand high-level opening up, put forward China’s propositions on maintaining true multilateralism, and delivered an “opening strong voice” to the world at a new historical starting point.

Over the past 20 years, China has promoted reform through opening up, and its economy has achieved rapid economic development-the total economic volume has risen from sixth to second in the world, trade in goods has risen from sixth to first in the world, and trade in services has risen from eleventh in the world. Rise to the second place, the use of foreign capital has steadily ranked first among developing countries, and foreign direct investment has risen from the 26th place in the world to the first place. China is developing in opening up, and the world has benefited from China’s opening up.

According to statistics from the National Bureau of Statistics, China’s total economic output accounted for more than 17% of the global economy in the 20 years of its accession to the WTO, and its average annual contribution to global economic growth was about 30%.

The best memorial to history is to create a new history. With the 20th anniversary as a new starting point, the world will witness a more open China, with a broader mind and a win-win situation with the world.
