A new explosive device was detonated last Friday night in the Nueva Granada neighborhood, commune 8 in the southeast of Neiva.

The incident occurred around 11:05 pm in the Carrera 27 with street 2F from said neighborhood and the explosion was heard both in the south and in the east of the capital of Huila. As could be established, the new target of this attack was an establishment with no business name, where a carpentry shop operates.

According to him Colonel Alexander Castillo Marín, Commander of the Metropolitan Police of Neivait was allegedly a low-power artisanal device, which was thrown in said sector, causing minor damage to the gate.

Members of the Police moved to the place in conjunction with the Army Gaula, in order to carry out security and rigor work in the area. Likewise, an investigation is being carried out in order to find out who is behind this new attack that is generating unrest in the city.

“We invite citizens to continue providing information that leads to the clarification of this type of events, by going to the Sijin facilities or contacting our intelligence section. There will be absolute reserve,” said the commander of the Neiva Metropolitan Police.

It is worth mentioning that this would be the 11th intimidating attack recorded so far this year in the city of Neiva. Authorities have made some arrests, pointing out that they are related to dissidents who intend to exert pressure to pay extortions.
