The American tech giant launches ‘Circle to search’ on new Android phones (Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series) in the United States. At any time, you can search online in any app for anything that appears on the smartphone screen, simply by pressing the home button and drawing a circle around something. The application uses Google Lens to select and identify various things, such as objects, plants or words. It is currently unclear when the innovative search method can also be used in Europe.

The company is also expanding ‘multisearch’, an application that allows users to combine images via Google Lens with search terms. With the new function, a short answer can be generated to a question. During the online demonstration, a Google manager asked a photo of a houseplant when it needed water. The answer appeared in a short text below the search bar. Google is launching its multisearch expansion in the United States this week.
