With this result, and with a 4-1 aggregate score, the Parisian team advances to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
Despite the excessive spending that the club has made to establish itself in the European tournament, PSG has failed in the round of 16 in five of the last seven editions, including the previous two.
This Tuesday, Mbappé opened the account in the 15th minute, with a shot so strong that it pierced the net and caused a brief interruption to repair it.
Kylian converted the second in the 56th fraction, to complete his double. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad reduced the score to 89, through Mikel Merino.

At 25 years and 76 days old, Mbappé became the second youngest player to reach 45 goals in the UEFA Champions League, in the group stage to the final. Lionel Messi achieved that mark when he was 24 years and 257 days old.
