Shanghai citizen Liu Qing (pseudonym) disclosed to The Epoch Times on June 6 that Kangping Road, where he lives, is in the Gaogan District of Shanghai, where “all the big officials live here”, and he has basically never been blocked.
Liu Qing said that once Yuqing Road was blocked in front, an old man came out and asked the staff what they were doing. The staff said that they were ordered to put a seal on the door and asked the residents to isolate at home and not come out.
“The old man said, are you kidding me? You are not allowed to do it. He will go back and call Beijing right away.” Liu Qing said that the old man called Han Zheng, “Han Zheng was promoted by him (back then)”, so this The area is basically unsealed.
Mr. Zhu, a former senior practitioner in Shanghai’s financial industry who has lived in Shanghai for more than 40 years, told The Epoch Times that the Shanghai authorities are very precise in dividing people’s class background and have a very detailed grasp of the situation in the community. “For example, which ones are foreign-related, which ones have a red background, and which ones are ordinary foreigners. For example, if an epidemic is found in a high-end community or what measures need to be taken, it is completely different from the treatment in some places with low living standards in Zhabei and Yangpu.”
“They are very divided into classes, and the privileged class will treat them differently, but the main reason is that they are afraid that these capable people will expose the problem.” Mr. Zhu said, this is what they call the so-called precise prevention and control.
According to public information, Kangping Road, formerly known as Route Magniny Marcel, was built in 1922 by the Public Board of Directors of the French Concession. In 1943, when the Wang Jingwei regime took over the French Concession, it was renamed Kangping Road after the county in Liaoning Province. Along the road, there are many new-style alleys with garden residences, which is a quiet residential area.
Kangping Road starts from Gao’an Road in the east and ends at Huashan Road in the west. In the middle, it intersects with four north-south roads, Wuxing Road, Wanping Road, Yuqing Road and Tianping Road. It is an asphalt road with a total length of less than one kilometer. Now Kangping Road is the office of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee. It is very heavily guarded, and some sections of the road are even forbidden to take pictures. The British “Financial Times” quoted Alex Payette, CEO of Cercius Group, a consulting firm that studies Chinese elite politics, as saying, “More and more voices are emerging in Shanghai and the party, and Han Zheng’s voice is particularly loud. , asking Xi Jinping to force Li Qiang to step down.”
However, Payette believes that if Xi Jinping sacrifices Li Qiang, it will trigger a “big earthquake” within the party before the 20th National Congress and destroy the thorny alliance system. The message to Xi’s other allies such as Chen Min’er, Ding Xuexiang and Cai Qi would be “no one is safe or immobile.”
