Jewel theft after break-in at the Green Vault: BGH confirms Dresden ruling

The verdict of the Dresden Regional Court in the trial surrounding the break-in into the Green Vault is final. As the Leipzig-based criminal division of the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) announced on Friday, the convictions of four defendants were confirmed and their appeals were rejected.

The members of the Berlin Remmo clan were sentenced by the Dresden regional court to prison terms of up to six years and three months. The allegations included: particularly serious or intentional arson in conjunction with dangerous bodily harm, theft with weapons and damage to property that is harmful to the public.

The verdicts were preceded by a deal: the defendants admitted involvement in the crime and returned part of the loot. However, important pieces remained missing.
