RFI launches images of the redevelopment plan on Youtube: “More green and public areas, safe services and paths”. The call for tenders for the construction site is ready
TREVISO. “The station rediscovers the city.” This is the slogan chosen by the Italian Railways to launch the redevelopment project of the Treviso train station is online. The plan, announced a few months ago at a press conference by the mayor and the managers and RFI, has also become a full-fledged advertising video. It was published online by the company that manages the railway network and buildings with the aim of promoting a millionaire investment.

Begins with two panoramic views of the city of Treviso from above, as if the historic center were flown over by a helicopter which then goes to position itself above the profile of the current railway yard. The special effects begin there with the materialization of what will be a future of redevelopment interventions outside the station: the new shelter, new pedestrian walkways, redevelopment of the road and strollers, new public spaces with trees.
Then the video continues framing the entrance of the future station and showing how the area will be “cleaned up” in a certain way: a shelter to protect travelers arriving at the airport or waiting for taxis and other transports, tables and relaxation areas at the open, the entrance to the railway station which will be built in the commercial spaces now vacant for years on the east side of the airport, towards the Terraglio overpass.
The yard
In times of influencers, online marketing, social networks too Rfi pushes on self-promotion while waiting to be able to publish the tender that will assign the large redevelopment project in which the Municipality will also participate with about 2 million euros. The works in progress today in the airport are only peripheral improvements, to which the major interventions of the project that could start as early as next year will then be added.
The big voids
To stay unfortunately excluded from this redevelopment are the spaces of the large shippers’ building, west of the airport, owned by the Italian post office and still awaiting redevelopment. It has been vacant and unused for years, albeit with very high potential. For office use, it could have been converted or enhanced for 15 years already, but over time all the negotiations and hypotheses have been smoked into a stalemate that has left all that area along the put abandoned in abandonment.
It is hoped that the fate of the complex that unites the former Heart and the buildings in the triangle of buildings between the overpass, via Pinelli and vicolo Gozzi will be different. Mom is finalizing the master plan for the transformation of the whole area into the new bus station. With the urban plan in hand, approved by the Municipality, it will be able to definitively conclude the negotiations for the acquisition of the last properties that have not yet been sold to it (13% of the total) and start the redevelopment program.
