LIGNANO. Most of the coastline has been repaired and the pegs of the umbrellas are starting to be positioned: on May 15th the 2021 bathing season will officially start.

Even if some seafront clubs will start working already in these days, such as Terrazza a mare which will open its doors on May 1st, all bathing establishments will plant umbrellas and set up sunbeds starting from the third Saturday in May.
“We hope that at the European level there will be uniformity of rules, with the least possible limitations, among all the States – says Fanotto -. The president of Getur, Giancarlo Cruder, has assured us that he will use 50 meters of coastline in his concession as a free beach. I thank him for the prompt reply ».
On the Friulian Riviera there is a lot of waiting for the first beach-goers of the summer.
“Despite the government’s conflicting measures, we are preparing to guarantee holidays in the name of safety and relaxation – says Donatella Pasquin, president of the Spiaggia Viva consortium -. The experience gained last year gives us strength despite the precariousness of the situation: the rules for preparing the beach will remain the same as last summer ».
Umbrella spots on the free beach will be marked with pegs, the beach equipment will be sanitized, people profiled and online reservations encouraged. In short, there will be an encore for a Covid-free beach.
In addition, in all likelihood, among the links of the bathing ordinance with which the mayor Fanotto regulates the use of the coast during the season, which will be signed shortly, the prohibition to stop on the water’s edge will be inserted again: no swimming pools. sun by the sea, then.
«We are not sheriffs – remarked Rodeano -. If the ban on gathering on the shore is to be respected, we need to have adequate resources ».
In Sabbiadoro, the games for children, the access lanes, the stakes and the gazebos are already all set up to the right of Terrazza a mare, while in the area towards the red lighthouse work will continue in the coming days.
Of the approximately 90 thousand cubic meters of sand needed to fix the beach, this year there are only about 30 thousand due to the lack of dredging: summer storms are feared that in full season threaten to erode several meters of beach.
“The bookings are relatively good – reports Rodeano -: most of the seasonal workers have reconfirmed, even if the bookings of the hoteliers reflect the slowdown in stays caused by the restrictions”. –
