Pakistan: attacks on the Afghanistan border, 4 soldiers killed

(ANSA) – ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 05 – At least four Pakistani soldiers were killed and another four wounded in two separate terrorist attacks in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) near the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

According to intelligence sources, armed militants attacked a security checkpoint, killing two security officers.

The second incident occurred in the South Waziristan tribal district in KP, when militants attacked the security forces vehicle with a remote-controlled device, killing two soldiers and wounding four others.

Spokesman for Tehrik and the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), Muhammad Khorasani, claimed responsibility for both attacks. “The Taliban fighters successfully carried out the attacks and came out unscathed,” he said in a WhatsApp message sent to ANSA. (HANDLE).
