The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and Togolese Abroad, Prof. Robert Dussey took part in the Italy-Africa Summit this Monday January 29 in Rome. He was at the head of the Togolese delegation at this summit which brings together several heads of state and government.
During this Italy-Africa summit, important subjects including “the Mattei plan”, energy agreements and stronger relations are discussed.
The major issue of this summit is the presentation of the “Mattei plan”, named after Enrico Mattei, founder of Eni (the Italian public energy giant), who already recommended in 1950, a cooperative relationship with African countries. , aimed at helping them develop their natural resources.
Through this summit, Italy is committed to placing the development of Africa at the heart of its mandate, with the involvement of all international actors in the implementation of its plan which covers various areas of development such as education, health, and access to water.
Among the personalities present were the Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, the President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, the President of Senegal, Macky Sall, as well as representatives of the Comoros, the Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritania, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
