Snowplows have been working tirelessly day and night to clear highways in many areas of China as the country experiences some of the strongest rain and snow since 2009. Freezing rain and heavy snowfall have led to suspended trains, delayed flights, and closed highways, causing severe travel disruptions during the Spring Festival.
In response to the blizzard, provinces like Henan, Shandong, and Anhui have deployed snowplows to remove snow at high speeds, with some working overtime to clear snow day and night. Videos show these snowplow trucks speeding along, emitting sparks from the friction between the shovel and the ground.
In Henan, which has been at the center of the blizzard, over 30,000 tons of snow melting agent have been prepared and stored in various areas. Additionally, nearly 900 large-scale snow removal vehicles and 4,000 workers are on standby, along with almost 4,000 tons of anti-skid sand and other emergency materials to cope with heavy snowfall across the province.
The effort to clear the highways and ensure safe travel during the Spring Festival has been commendable, as the snowplows work tirelessly to keep the roads clear.
