The 2 million euro tender for the creation of a Digital Hub in Mozambique has been published

by admin

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation has published the notice from 2 million euros for the creation of a Digital Hub in the province of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique.

With this initiative, promoted by AICS together with AgID in support of the “Strategic Plan for the Information Society 2019-2028 of Mozambique through technological hubs of digital excellence”, the objective is to identify the public-private consortium to which to entrust the development and management of the Digital Hub.

In the Digital Hub, the intention is to provide digital training to young Mozambicans, promote entrepreneurship and stimulate the development of innovative digital services.

Who can participate

The application for the tender can be submitted by consortia made up of one or more Mozambican public institutions, one or more public or private international institutions with experience in development cooperation projects, ICT education/training, development of startups in the digital sector, management of technology hubs and one or more representative private sector organizations or businesses in Mozambique’s digital ecosystem.

The deadline for submitting applications is set at April 30, 2024. The 2 million financing will be in the form of a donation, therefore the consortia that apply will have to have as lead entity non-profit organisations.

The other announcement

At the same time, AICS published a further call for proposalsas part of the project “VaMoz Digital” for a total value of 5 million euros through European funds, which involves the creation and development of two Digital Hubs in the central and northern regions of the country (with specific locations that the candidate consortia themselves will propose).
