On October 31st, local products are once again protagonists after a year off. Conference on the proposal to create the Belluno biodistrict at the Canossian institute

The agricultural sector needs the spaces to sell its products and the administration wants to give support and visibility to the primary sector, relaunching the importance of the zero-kilometer supply chain. Because of this the Fiera di San Matteo 2021 will take place: the appointment is for Sunday 31 October in the center and will be the nineteenth edition of the exhibition-market of typical products of the province of Belluno, after the stop imposed last year by the pandemic.
Come back then a fixed point in the panorama of agricultural exhibitions that this year they strongly wanted to return to the summer and autumn calendar after the cancellations a year ago due to the coronavirus.
If the large events dedicated to trade in a broader sense such as the Fiera delle Anime di Arsiè and the Fiera di Ognissanti di Fonzaso have been canceled for the second consecutive year due to the risk of gatherings and the difficulty of managing the influx of public, the world of agriculture has strongly wanted to pick up the pace.
UThe bean in Lamon obtained an excellent result on 19 September, the grape festival in Fonzaso won its bet last Sunday and the pumpkin festival in Caorera will try to do the same next Sunday.
At the Fiera di San Matteo it will therefore be Sunday 31 October reopen its doors.
This nineteenth edition of the event is also organized byadministration of Feltre in collaboration with the provincial federation Coldiretti of Belluno, the institute for agriculture and the environment “Della Lucia” of Vellai and consortia of typical products.
Throughout the day – the activities will go live already at 8.30 – visitors will be able to find in the city center, as usual, agricultural, agri-food and rural handicraft products coming primarily from the Feltre area and also from the rest of the province of Belluno.
There will be exhibitor stands in via Roma, Campo Giorgio, Campo Mosto and via Crispi, but the Fiera di San Matteo is not just an exhibition market.
The day before (Saturday 30 October), will in fact be anticipated by a thematic conference which will be held in the auditorium of the Canossian institute and will focus on the proposal for the establishment of the biodistrict of the province of Belluno.
Organizing the event overcoming the difficulties and supporting the efforts for economic recovery means meeting the expectations of producers and citizens, as underlined the councilor for agriculture and the environment Valter Bonan: “After the forced break last year, the restart signal given by the Fiera di San Matteo is relevant not only for the agricultural producers sector, but for the whole community, also in line with the decisions of the administration relating to the same area, such as the strengthening of the Saturday farmers’ market and the provision of public land for sustainable cultivation and consolidation of the common gardens ».
Nobody was even discouraged by the anti Covid measures which of course must be adopted to ensure the safety of exhibitors and the public.
«The exhibition will be held in full compliance with the regulations in force relating to trade fairs for which – in a spirit of collaboration – the exhibitors themselves will be engaged in a spirit of collaboration ”, says Valter Bonan. He adds: “We are working on the final details of the program that will be based, as well as the regulations for admission of exhibitors to the fair, maximum enhancement of the products of our land and the environment that hosts us “.
