The command of the Cesar Police Department, through the Child and Adolescent Protection group, carried out an activity to prevent child recruitment in a municipality of La Jagua de Ibirico.
Among the activities were talks and guidance to the children of the Hilda Aguilar Meneses and Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento schools, on topics related to the comprehensive protection of the rights of boys and girls.
They also took a walk from the youth house to the Cumbancheros square in this town, in the company of different Educational Institutions, officials from the municipal Mayor’s Office, Firefighters, the Ministry of the Interior and the Family Commissioner.
The objective was to raise people’s awareness about the importance of protecting the rights of children in our country and counteract this scourge by giving citizens tools to file complaints within the framework of the ‘Rescuing Lives Saving Dreams’ campaign.
Finally, the National Police closes the day by inviting citizens to report any case against minors using lines 123, 156, 141 of the Colombian Family Welfare Institute and 122 of the Attorney General’s Office.
