The Disciplinary Court of the Paraguayan Football Association established harsh sanctions on the Cerro Porteño Club for the incidents recorded between fans organized for the third date of the Apertura Tournament, in a match played by the Barça team against Sportivo 2 de Mayo Pedro Juan Caballero, on January 29 at the Defensores del Chaco Stadium.
The meeting had been suspended on that occasion since there were no security guarantees. The Court ruled as follows:
Terminate the match and consequently award the points to Club 2 de Mayo. Sanction the Cerro Porteño Club with the penalty of playing 2 matches behind closed doors from its public. Ban the organized fans “La Plaza” and “Comando” for a period of 10 years from any sporting event organized or sponsored by the APF. Prohibit the entry of 22 people identified by the Cerro Porteño Club to any sporting event organized or sponsored by the APF. Sanction Cerro Porteño with a fine of 40 minimum wages.
