This is how El Salvador will play in CA and Caribbean baseball

A few days before the start of the XXIV edition of the Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023, the calendar for the discipline of baseball is defined with a round of all against all among the eight participating countries, starting next Saturday, June 24, in the remodeled Saturnino Bengoa Urrutia Ball Park.

Cuba, Nicaragua, Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Curacao, and the Dominican Republic will compete with El Salvador for the medals in the regional fair. The four best teams from that initial round will fight for the medals and will qualify for the XIX Pan American Games Santiago 2023, to be held between October and November.

The National Team of El Salvador, which has had great support in its preparation of the program effort and glory of the National Institute of Sports (INDES), will debut that same Saturday 24, at 8:00 pm, against the Curaçao ninth as a local. The national team will play all its matches at that time, the final game of each day, due to its condition as the venue.

On Sunday the 25th they will face Mexico as a visitor, while on Monday the 26th they will host Nicaragua. On Tuesday the 27th they will be a visitor against the Dominican Republic, on Wednesday the 28th at home against Cuba, on Thursday the 29th as a visitor against Venezuela and on Friday the 30th they will face Puerto Rico, also as a visitor.

The inaugural clash of the tournament will be between Mexico and Cuba, on Saturday the 24th at 9:30 am. That day will be completed with the matches Puerto Rico vs. Venezuela (1:00 pm), Dominican vs. Nicaragua (4:30 pm) and Curaçao vs. El Salvador (8:00 pm).

The four best teams will advance to the medal round to be played on Saturday, July 1. The fourth and third place will fight for the bronze medal at 1:00 pm, while the first and second place will fight for the gold starting at 4:30 pm.

The blue and white team, which comes from a successful preparation tour of Nicaragua, where they were undefeated in five matches (four wins and one draw) against various professional and youth teams from the pinoleros country, has completed a preparation process that has included several warm-up series with international teams, including several matches in Guatemala and Nicaragua, as well as participation in the Central American Baseball Tournament held in Managua.
