After the announcement of the theme chosen for the 2022 edition of the Trento Festival of Economics, the Scientific Committee of the Festival, organized by the Autonomous Province of Trento, through Trentino Marketing, and by the 24 ORE Group in collaboration with the University of Trento and the Municipality of Trento from 2 to 5 June, launches the first of a series of initiatives dedicated to young people and students, which this seventeenth edition of the Festival will involve with a schedule on the state of the art of the major topics on the agenda of the global agenda to outline future prospects.

This is the “Visions of the Future” initiative, which invites young people to be protagonists in building responses to the great challenges of our time, in harmony with the title of the Festival “After the Pandemic, BETWEEN ORDER AND DISORDER”. Two thematic strands identified by the Scientific Committee of the Festival as those most in the foreground in the current debate, on which students are called to measure themselves: gender equality and the energy transition.

Students who answer the call for “Visions of the future” must produce, individually or in groups, a paper on one of the themes following the indications provided on the website www.festivalonomia.it/challenge, outlining possible solutions. The texts must be sent to the e-mail address [email protected] by 30 April 2022. University students regularly enrolled in an Italian university at the time of joining and those enrolled in business management schools can participate.

The works will be evaluated by a joint commission of the 24 ORE Group and the University of Trento: the outstanding contributions will be presented during the Festival, from 2 to 5 June in Trento. Subsequently, some extracts of these papers will be published in the newspapers of Il Sole 24 Ore.

“Visions of the future” wants to be an open space to collect ideas and proposals from young people in the elaboration of answers to the great challenges we face and constitutes the first, symbolic but significant step of a necessary comparison between generations, for the construction of a more equitable, inclusive society capable of looking to the future.
