Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, held a series of important meetings on March 28, 2024, in Boao, Hainan. During his visit, Zhao Leji met with Kazakhstan President Tokayev, Chairman of the Cambodian King’s Advisory Council Hun Sen, and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk.

During his meeting with President Tokayev of Kazakhstan, Zhao Leji emphasized the importance of the “golden thirty years” of China-Kazakhstan relations. He highlighted the strategic decision made by President Xi Jinping and President Tokayev to build a community with a shared future between the two countries. The discussion focused on deepening cooperation in key areas and strengthening strategic coordination to achieve common development and prosperity.

President Tokayev expressed Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership with China and enhancing cooperation in various fields, including legislative bodies.

In his meeting with Chairman Hun Sen of Cambodia, Zhao Leji discussed the progress of the community with a shared future between China and Cambodia. Both parties agreed to deepen cooperation in economic, cultural, and youth-related areas to advance national modernization and promote practical construction of a China-Cambodia community with a shared future.

Chairman Hun Sen reaffirmed Cambodia’s dedication to building friendly relations with China and expressed willingness to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

During the meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk, Zhao Leji highlighted the healthy and stable development of China-Russia relations under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Putin. Both parties discussed the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and agreed to continue promoting cooperation in various fields.
