Amaro, the infinite emotion of the goal 200 goals in career after the Inter dream

The 31-year-old striker from Voghera (now at Union) auditioned with the Nerazzurri as a child. Then bomber with the amateurs

VOGHERA

A thoroughbred bomber is always hungry for goals. Pietro Amaro, 31-year-old forward of Union Calcio Basso Pavese (Promotion) perfectly represents the mentality of the scorer who lives for the joy of scoring.

The thrill of the goal

“When the ball touches the net, I feel a unique emotion”, says Amaro, who last Sunday in the victory of the Union on the field of Alagna, reached the threshold of 200 career goals. A remarkable achievement for the striker from Voghera, who approached football as a child. But the ball did not win him immediately: «I was in first grade, in Rivanazzano. Initially I didn’t like football, so much so that I wanted to quit after a week of training. Then, seeing my older brother playing and having fun, I resumed football and from that moment on, I have never abandoned him ». From an early age, Pietro’s qualities did not go unnoticed: «In Pulcini’s second year, with Riva, we won the championship and scored 63 goals. At the time, in Salice, there was a youth tournament reserved for Serie A teams. A Rivanazzanese manager spoke to an Inter manager and asked him to come and see me in a match. In that match, which we won 3-0 with Casei, I played very well, so the Inter managers called me up for an audition at Interello. I aroused a good impression, and the Inter technicians were willing to take me, but I had to leave home as a child, and my mother opposed the idea of a transfer ».

After Inter’s opportunity faded, Amaro moved from Riva to Voghera, where he played all the juvenile stages, until his debut in Serie D in 2007, at the age of 17. After his baptism in the Rossoneri jersey, Amaro’s career in senior football kicks off from Bressana, and touches numerous stages, between Excellence and First Category, with the common trait of goals, scored in profusion. «The goals I remember with the most pleasure are linked to the three seasons in which I won the championship, with Bressana, Varzi and Voghera, always in the First category. Over the years I have learned to weigh goals rather than count them ». The attacking partner with whom Pietro has created a special feeling is Sozzi, with whom he shared the exploit in the Varzi winning Prima in 2015: “With him, a natural understanding was born, as characteristics we marry perfectly”. Amaro’s favorite coaches are two: “Landini, whom I had in Varzi and with whom we became friends even off the pitch, and Chierico, a great person and an exceptional coach.” The 200 goals do not satisfy Pietro, who in his life outside football works as a courier: «I would like to reach 300 goals, but now I am focused on this season. I have never managed to win the Promotion championship, and I want to try with Union Calcio, we are a strong and complete team ». Word of bicentennial bomber. –
