That’s what the documentary is about
The racing driver Simona de Silvestro has already competed in all racing series in her career. Among other things, in the American counterpart to the premier class, the Indy 500, and in the Australian Super Cars series. So far it hasn’t been enough for Formula 1.
Why are women sorely underrepresented in racing? Is it the discouraged sponsors who don’t trust women to achieve good results and rely on their male competitors? The international umbrella organization FIA is also doing little to get girls interested in motorsport and the associated professions of mechanics and engineers.
Formula 1 veteran Craig Pollock wants to change that. “NZZ Format” talks to him about his goal of bringing a new team into Formula 1. He calls it “Formula Equal,” and it should consist of at least half women.
