There is a cornerstone on which Conegliano has always built his victories: the reception seen on Sunday in Rome was in clear growth compared to the first two official matches. From the modest 45% of the Super Cup the Panthers have reached 77%, not to mention the perfect one, which jumped from 21% to 49%. As often happens in these cases, the power plants that were among the best in the field benefited.

The whole second-line department showed off a high-level performance, with excellence above all: Monica De Gennaro closed (and it’s not the first time, of course) with 100% in the “positive” box and 83% in the “perfect” voice. She was awarded the MVP recognition of the match, a fact not so frequent in single matches, so much so that in the calendar year 2021 it occurred just three times. «Not only my performance was good, but also that of all my companions» she declared on the sidelines, after receiving a bottle of good wine from the Roman castles. In her nine years as a panther, De Gennaro has always had younger role “colleagues”, who have tried to follow in her footsteps, working with her in the gym and – very rarely – replacing her on the pitch as free: Carlotta Daminato, Martina Boscoscuro , Chiara De Bortoli, Silvia Fiori, Eleonora Fersino, Lara Caravello have had few opportunities to join the sextet and, especially in more recent seasons, also with tasks of helping the service. This was not the case for the 16-year-old Anna Bardaro da Montebelluna, who took the field on Sunday in a scoring situation that was not entirely calm, with Roma able to recover and cancel three matchpoints: this debut takes De Gennaro’s record on the age of debut in the top flight. Moki was called up with the Vicenza shirt at the same age (March 2003 against Forlì), but made his debut on the pitch only on October 30, 2004, against Pesaro.

It is obviously not the case to talk about handover, but the fact that Bardaro is the U19 Italian champion with Imoco San Donà and already in the national team, bodes well for the future. In the meantime, the present is called Novara and on Thursday evening all the talent and experience of the panthers will be needed to extend the winning streak. –
