LA Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard has reportedly been selected to fill the 12th and final spot on Team USA’s roster for the 2024 Olympics, according to sources from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Leonard, who has been averaging 23.7 points and 6.1 rebounds this season, will join a star-studded lineup that includes LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and others.
The official announcement of the other 11 players on Team USA’s roster has yet to be made, but sources have indicated that it will include some of the biggest names in the NBA. The team will be coached by Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors.
Leonard, who missed the final eight games of the regular season due to inflammation in his right knee, will now have the opportunity to represent his country at the Olympic Games in Paris, which are set to take place from July 26 to August 11. A total of 12 teams will be competing for the gold medal in basketball at the prestigious event.
