On the second day of the All England Championships, the Chinese national badminton team displayed an impressive performance, securing victories in multiple games and making a strong comeback in the men’s doubles event.

The competition, which took place in the early hours of March 14 Beijing time, saw the Chinese team achieve a record of 9 wins and 4 losses. Players such as Shi Yuqi, Chen Yufei, Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan, Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping, and Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang all advanced smoothly in their respective events. Ren Xiangyu/He Jiting even managed to sweep the men’s doubles world No. 2 pair Jiang Minhe/Xu Chengzai.

In the men’s singles category, Shi Yuqi, who recently clinched the French Open championship, displayed great strength and determination. Despite losing the first game, he fought back to win the next two games and secure a 2:1 victory over Denmark’s Gemke, advancing to the next round. However, Lu Guangzu’s efforts fell short as he lost to Thailand’s Kunlawutt in a close 1:2 match, ending his campaign in the first round.

In the women’s singles event, Chinese players had a successful debut, with 3 wins and 2 losses. Chen Yufei, He Bingjiao, and Wang Zhiyi all secured quick wins, while Zhang Yiman and Gao Fangjie faced tough competition and ultimately suffered defeats.

The women’s doubles event saw top seeds Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan and Jang Seok-hyun/Zheng Yu advance to the next round with impressive performances. However, Li Yijing/Luo Xumin had to withdraw due to an injury, ending their campaign in the tournament.

In the men’s doubles category, Ren Xiangyu/He Jiting and Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang put up strong showings, securing wins to advance to the next round. The mixed doubles pair Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping also emerged victorious, defeating their opponents in just 30 minutes.
