Yesterday tampons and training session at Mascherpa with four new faces: Galimberti, Maggi, Donadio and Cupello

Pavia has resumed running with the firm intention of aiming high. Yesterday morning, at the Fortunati stadium, the blue troops gathered to face the first training session of the season, directed by the new coach Omar Albertini and his staff. The whole team underwent a round of rapid tampons at 8.30 am, all with negative results, and then supported the training on the adjacent field of the Mascherpa, a session divided between athletic and technical exercises. The group was incomplete, with several players who will join today, when the team will leave for the training camp in Val d’Aosta. In the squad of the blues, there are several market innovations; compared to the already formalized signings, the defender Alberto Galimberti, born in 2003 coming from the Como Primavera, the midfielder Edoardo Maggi, coming from the Pavese Academy and two new forwards, Christian Donadio, born in 2001, ex NibbionOggiono (Serie D) and Michael Cupello, born in 2002, from the City of San Giuliano (Excellence). The goalkeeper Tommaso Picone, born in 2002, also arrived from the Accademia Pavese.
Albertini does not hide the ambition
Albertini, on his first day of work with Pavia, does not hide his ambition: «I have a lot of enthusiasm, for a Pavese like me this is a demanding challenge, for which I feel the responsibility, but at the same time beautiful. Let’s start a new story together, with a great desire to win ». After winning the championship of Excellence with Alcione, Albertini will try to repeat himself on the blue bench. A goal to be pursued with a lot of work: «We started early because we have come from a particular year, with a half season due to the pandemic. We want to bring everyone to a good level of condition for the new season, with personalized workloads tailored to each individual player. The retreat that we will do in Val d’Aosta this week will serve to form a united group and will allow us to work in more pleasant weather conditions. We are happy to be able to play friendly matches with strong opponents, in this way we will be able to carefully evaluate the growth of the team ».
The latest purchases have further strengthened Pavia’s staff, but further market news cannot be excluded, in particular in the offensive department: “Numerically we are there, we will see if there will be other developments, the company is always attentive to the opportunities that arise »Says the 40-year-old technician from Pavia. In any case, it is reasonable to expect a rather competitive championship, with many well-equipped teams: «I think the level will be very high, many teams have made an important market, so I expect a difficult championship. We have changed a lot, and we will have to be good at forming a cohesive group in a short time. We know we represent a historical and important reality like Pavia, we will try to win over our fans with work and results ».
In Albertini’s project, the results will have to come through a proactive and offensive kick: “I have always followed this path, and I certainly will not change it,” says the new blue helmsman, determined more than ever to steer the Pavia towards horizons of glory. –
