“I spent 42 years in the Army, 36 of which in Asti and it is with pride and a very high sense of the state that I am a candidate for mayor of Asti”.
To officially present his candidacy, is Salvatore Puglisi, Major on leave of the Carabinieri reserve. He presents the program but not yet the list, or the lists «We don’t know whether to make one or two given the many candidates: I would prefer only one but if there were two the second will be called now plus Asti».
For the moment the list is Now Asti and the ideas are ambitious “Environment, energy saving, young people, sport, hamlets are among our priorities” explains Puglisi, helped by some candidates present: Salvatore Compoundengineer with experience in the energy field e Giacomo Sorbayoung fireman.
“A completely civic list, without familiar faces of Asti politics and completely free” they point out. “In the field of security – argues Puglisi – we strongly believe that decorum and cleanliness go hand in hand, without forgetting cameras to discourage behaviors that have very little civilian”.
Attention also to young people; “They shouldn’t be a problem but have the opportunity to live and work in Asti, perhaps thinking of meeting places for them”. Even for work, «a special space for Start Ups right at the ex-Way -Assauto». Then the mobility “We would like to try to set up a light metro, perhaps using the railway lines that are no longer used, such as the Asti-Chivasso: we could have stops in Serravalle, Way Assauto, Borgo and arrive as far as Portacomaro”. But not only: “We would like the stretch of Corso Alfieri that goes from Piazza Alfieri to Piazza Primo Maggio to be finally enhanced”. The attraction would be «the transformation of the Command Building of the former Colli di Felizzano barracks into a permanent museum of wine and truffles, perhaps also exploiting it for the Douja d’Or».
Ideas also on the Bosco dei Partigiani: «It could become a botanical garden, perhaps with the help of nurserymen and entrepreneurs, a venue for food and wine events that would also enhance the Ancient Walls». Money to put the ideas into practice would be raised by fight against waste (“Energy first of all), especially in municipal buildings” but also by saving on rents: “Too many municipal offices pay high rents while there are property structures in which they could be transferred, such as Enofila”. For example, it indicates the ASP operating in non-owned premises. “Even if the biggest problems of the ASP could also be attributable to very old pipes that bring water from the Cantarana wells to Asti” points out the other candidate present, the real estate consultant Maurizio Mazzetto. And, with the air of a serious investigator that distinguishes him, Puglisi does not pronounce himself on the other issues “South West ring road, management of the nomad camp, or we know nothing for sure about the backport: we need to see the dossiers and understand what has been done and what point are the projects “.
