With Lorenzo Alesi, Alice Linari and Paolo Prosperi from the Apennines to Mont Blanc to discover how the climate is changing the mountain, an open-air gym for millions of sportsmen

It’s called “The Melting Point” and it is a documentary film in which, the protagonists Lorenzo Alesi (professional skier and ski instructor) and Alice Linari passionate about the mountains, travel, accompanied by local guides and personalities from the mountain world, on a journey that starts from the southernmost glacier in Europe, the Cauldron of the Gran Sasso d’Italia up to Mont Blanc. The declared objective is to testify the effects of climate change on the high altitude environment and to stimulate the old and new generations towards greater attention to the protection of the natural heritage. We are all responsible for.

The film touches, skis on, four symbolic locations: the Gran Sasso as the first stop and then heads north towards the Apennines, stopping in the Sibillini National Park. Third stage the Dolomites to then end at Mont Blanc. During their trip Lorenzo to Alice listened to the testimonies of local communities on the clear changes that year after year are changing our planet. The sudden changes that on the glaciers are also modifying the relationship between tourism and the environment.

The protagonists have chosen to remain faithful to the desire to seek practical solutions to apply to their way of life electric motorcycles and an approach to the slopes only with skins and using van sharing for longer journeys. A way to move certainly slower but in greater connection with nature. Directed by Paolo Prosperi.
