Apple Watch explodes and runs out of battery! iOS 17.4.1 causes trouble after 4 hours of no battery, here are the solutions

Apple Watch users are facing a major issue as their devices are exploding and running out of battery after updating to iOS 17.4.1. Many users have reported that their Apple Watch’s power consumption has worsened significantly, with some devices running out of power after just 4 hours of use.

Netizens have taken to Apple’s official community to share their experiences, noting that the battery drain started immediately after updating their iPhones to iOS 17.4.1. Some users mentioned that their Apple Watch lost 80% of its battery overnight, even when not in use. Despite seeking help from Apple support, users were told that there was nothing unusual with their devices.

To temporarily solve the issue, some users have disconnected their iPhones from their Apple Watches and turned off automatic updates for the watch. They also deleted the WatchOS 10.4 update file on the Apple Watch before reconnecting the devices.

It seems that a permanent solution may have to wait until the release of iOS 17.5. Bloomberg has hinted that Apple will be launching new iPads in the second week of May, which may coincide with the release of iOS 17.5. The official version of iOS 17.5 is expected to be available between May 6 to May 10.

In the meantime, Apple has released some details on the new features of iOS 17.5, including small improvements to the Weather and Podcast desktop tools. The Weather widget now features narrower temperature numbers, while the Podcast widget will change its background color to match the program cover.

Apple Watch users are advised to stay tuned for the official release of iOS 17.5 for a permanent fix to their battery drain issues.
