ATP Rotterdam – Musetti, defeat with regrets against Griekspoor: out in the 1st round

Lorenzo Musetti’s run at the ATP 500 in Rotterdam ends immediately. The Carrarino goes out in the first round against the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor (world no. 26), who prevails 3-6 7-6(7) 7-6(3) in almost three hours of play. The Haarlem native did well to cancel two match points at 5-6 15-40 in the third set and in the decisive moment of the match he proved to be more proactive and resolute. At the next meeting he will find one between Hurkacz and Lehecka. Musetti shows some flashes of good tennis, but he is still far from the best version of himself and has not won two matches in a row in a tournament since Chengdu last September.
