Bahrain, from the cathedral in the desert the Pope mediates between Sunnis and Shiites

MANAMA – The cathedral in the desert, in Bahrain, is not a metaphor. The ultra-modern church dedicated to Our Lady of Arabia, the largest of all the Gulf countries, emerges from nowhere in a vast desert land donated to Catholics by King Ahmad bin Isa Al Khalifa, not far from the verdant compound of the royal house, in a sign of benevolence towards other religions.
