Kevin Viveros gives victory to La Equidad over Patriotas

La Equidad and Patriotas faced each other at the Metropolitano de Techo stadium in Bogotá for date 7 of the BetPlay League. Alexis García’s team took the three points thanks to a score by Kevin Viveros, in a match with few emotions. This is the second victory for the insurance team so far in the League, while the Lancers continue on a negative streak in which they have not managed to add three, achieving only two draws.

First half of few emotions

Sunny afternoon in Bogotá for a nice atmosphere at the Techo stadium. La Equidad and Patriotas left a lot to be desired in the matchday seven match. The match began with two purposeful teams, so much so that in the first action Luis Payares attempted a through pass to Gianfranco Peña who unfortunately was offside. From there, both teams had attempts at the rival goals but without generating any real danger in the last play.

Around half an hour into the match, Equidad approached Juan David Valencia’s goal in a collective play in which David Polanco finished with his right foot from the center of the area to the left post. The home team took advantage of the quick transitions to approach the area and try to open the scoring, however, at halftime they left with a clean sheet.

Viveros breaks zero on the hour

For the second half, the coaches modified their teams, the slogan was clear, the three points. Equidad needed to return to the victory that it had not achieved since date three when it beat Santa Fe, and Patriotas needed to score at least one goal that would take it away from the anti-record.

Kevin Viveros was one of the highlights of the match as he was the most insistent player in Equidad’s offensive zone, finishing seven times on goal. By insisting and persisting so much, the goal opened and at minute 66 ‘the only goal of the match arrived, a reward for Viveros for his work in the game. The striker was able to beat the goalkeeper to score his first goal, securing his strength after a long throw-in by Washington Ortega.
