There was pressure from the former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Firli Bahuri was immediately detained. Regarding this, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed that the legal process was still ongoing.

“The examination is still ongoing,” said General Sigit after attending the book launch event ‘A New Way of Religious Moderation: Grateful for 66 Years of Haedar Nashir’ at the National Library, Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta, Monday (4/3/2024).

General Sigit said that his party did not want to rush things. He emphasized respecting the ongoing legal process.

“I think the Metro Police will certainly carry out the inspection carefully and not in a hurry,” he said.

“Yes, we just respect it. But what is certain is that they are serious,” he continued.

Previously, there were calls for former KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri to be detained. Pressure came from former KPK leaders so that Firli Bahuri would not roam around.

As is known, Firli Bahuri has been named a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL). So far, Firli has been questioned six times at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit building. Two of them were still witnesses, namely on Thursday (26/10) and Thursday (16/11).

Meanwhile, other examinations after Firli was named a suspect were on Friday (1/12), Wednesday (6/12), Wednesday (27/12) and Friday (19/1). However, after the final examination was carried out, Firli was still free and had not been detained.

Firli missed inspections for case file equipment twice. In fact, Firli is scheduled to be questioned on February 6 and 26.
