With the arrival of the Open Arms ship in Larnaca, Cyprus, the mission of the NGO in collaboration with World Central Kitchen (WCK) in the humanitarian corridor to Gaza Strip following the devastating attack suffered by the humanitarian convoy of the organization founded by chef Josè Andrés which caused the death of seven humanitarian workers.

In the past few weeks, Open Arms and WCK reached an unprecedented milestone: the opening of first humanitarian maritime corridor to Gaza from Cyprus, overcoming two decades of naval blockade imposed by Israel. The goal was to alleviate the desperate humanitarian situation of Gaza, characterized by famine and alarming levels of malnutrition after months of continuous bombing.
