Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino answered the coach’s words Liverpool Jurgen Klopp on who his favorite team is final Carabao Cup 2024 which will take place at Wembley Stadium, London, Sunday (25/2).
Klopp denied the title of ‘favorite team’ for Liverpool against Chelsea in the 2024 Carabao Cup final even though on paper and in terms of performance the Reds team deserved to be favourites.
“Is Liverpool the biggest favorite team in the Carabao Cup final? Of course not,” said Klopp.

Pochettino disagrees with Klopp’s remarks. The Argentinian coach thinks Klopp is just trying to play mind games ahead of the 2024 Carabao Cup final.
“Klopp is one of the best coaches, along with Pep [Guardiola], in this world. He is quite clever, and he knows, when you play in a final there will always be situations that arise [buruk] that could happen,” said Pochettino as quoted from This Is Anfield.
Pochettino further said that Chelsea did not deserve to be the favorite team, because in experience Klopp’s Liverpool played more often in final matches.
“Of course, if Liverpool is not the favorite team, then Chelsea is also not the favorite team. If Klopp says that, it means Liverpool is the favorite team, because after eight years, Liverpool has experience as a good team and has appeared in a number of finals,” said Pochettino.
“For Chelsea, our players are not only new to this competition, the Premier League or the Carabao Cup, but for some of our players this may be their first final. That’s why Liverpool is the favorite team, but Klopp is smart enough to say 50-50,” said Pochettino.
Liverpool last won the Carabao Cup title in 2022 when they beat Chelsea in the final. This season Liverpool are also unbeaten against Chelsea, with the last win 4-1 in the Premier League on January 31.
