A Moscow court imposed a fine of 21.08 billion rubles (365 million euros) on Google for the refusal of the Mountain View giant to remove prohibited content concerning the attack on Ukraine, or “inaccurate information published on YouTube on the course of the special operation “. The judges of the Tagansky district of Moscow explained that the amount of the fine is equal to 10% of the annual income of the group in the Russian Federation. This is the second sanction imposed by the Russian authorities on Google: the first, for an amount of 7.2 billion rubles, was imposed in December 2021 and should have been paid by March 19. In May, bailiffs filed a lawsuit against the company for enforced collection: the company was also forced to pay another 505 million rubles as an execution tax.
