“Ravenous Devils is our third title, born from a market research and also a bit by pure chance. Before starting a new project, we learned to look around, especially looking at the trending video games on Steam, comparing tags. This allowed us to have clearer ideas about the kind of game we would have liked to develop ”: that’s what I’m talking about Cristian Gambadori and Eleonora Vecchi, the young founders of Bad Vices Games.
Cristian and Eleonora met at the Event Horizon School in breaking latest news, where they attended an imported three-year course on 3D modeling. In February 2020 their first title published on Steam comes out, Hippocampusa hack and slash videogame gothic with platforming stages. They made their second job in just 6 months, and in September of the same year it came out Sexual Voida game for adults.

Their third work, Ravenous Devilsproduced in collaboration with Troglobytes Games, is an experience with a disturbing irony, a horror palette that makes use of the stroke of the designer Mirco Pierfederici. They told us that “in October 2020 Lemon Cake, a small indie game found by chance, marked a turning point for what would have been Ravenous Devils. At that point we realized we wanted to develop a kitchen management title, and given our tastes in video games and cinema, we immediately thought about the story of Sweeney Todd”.
First of all the sources of inspiration for Bad Vice was the movies on Tim Burton, but they did not limit themselves. The team has read everything about the fascinating and macabre history of the Devilish Barber on Fleet Streetfrom the play up to a penny dreadful (periodicals circulating in the United Kingdom of the 19th century) entitled The String of Pearls. Again: “In the game we wanted to insert other elements taken here and there from other horror films, an example is the carnivorous plant present in the greenhouse, a clear reference to the film The little shop of horrors. But another film that goes hand in hand with Sweeney Todd is Delicatessen”.
In a period in which TV schedules are overflowing with cooking programsand the whole of Western society seems obsessed with food, a game like Ravenous Devils, full of morbid love, seasoned with black humor, could offend the most sensitive audience, Cristian and Eleonora told us: “Since this is not the usual cooking videogame, we hope that its uniqueness will attract the attention of the most curious and those who maybe he doesn’t usually prefer the genre. Surely, not suitable for the faint of heart”.

The subtitles in Italian, its setting, the pub and the tailor shop immersed in the Victorian London of the 19th century, the love story and the morbid dedication that binds the protagonists Hildred and Percival, the secondary characters that revolve around the business of the couple, they make up a tasty and thick dish, full of well-blended ingredients, but not suitable for young people and a particularly sensitive audience. Instead, it is perfect for black comedy lovers and for those looking for light but intelligent entertainment.
