The reasons why they gave birth to that disaster are not yet clear, although the investigators have some ideas. How they did it, however, is more than clear. Because they both acted under the cameras, with their faces uncovered, leaving behind a series of clues and “signatures”. Also because, after all, they are not criminals and I never know they were. He is a 67-year-old, clean-cut dentist very well known in the village, she – his mistress – is a 64-year-old, single, retired lady who has never had any trouble with the law.
Yet, since Thursday morning both have been in prison in San Vittore with heavy charges of arson aggravated by abject motives and significant damage, of an attack on the safety of a gas plant and of an attempted fire.

In fact, it was they who set fire – within a month – to the “Fit Boutique” gym in Buccinasco, at number 48 in via degli Alpini, and to the pilates studio located in the same building, but on the upper floor. They were framed by the carabinieri of the Corsico company, led by Major Domenico La Padula and by Lieutenant Armando Laviola, who in less than thirty days – with the coordination of the prosecutor Marina Petruzzella – obtained from the Gip Stefania Donadeo the go-ahead for the ordinances of pre-trial detention.
The first fire in the gym
The investigators’ work began on the evening of May 28, when a fire destroyed the gym that two young people had opened for a couple of years in that building that had been empty for almost ten years before it was bought by the couple at auction. .
The military, however, immediately ruled out that organized crime interests or extortion attempts were hidden behind the flames and focused their attention on something else. The municipal video surveillance cameras had in fact filmed a man and a woman arriving in a car a few minutes before the fire broke out. That machine, the investigations later found, was that of the 67-year-old, who has a dental office upstairs from the gym.
But not only. Because those same cameras had returned almost the entire film of the attack. In the images, according to what has been learned, we see the man who enters the building and exits shortly afterwards with a ladder, which he then uses to get to the gym’s camera, which in reality does not work and which he himself tries to obscure with a material chalky.
Then, after setting fire to the fuse, the two leave and stop at the other side of the structure until – exactly six minutes later – the flames burst into all their destructive power. And in all their danger. Because, the specialists of the fire investigation unit of the fire brigade later verified, the accelerator had been placed next to the gas pipes – a circumstance that could have led to a potentially destructive explosion for the entire building.
After identifying the dentist – betrayed also, but not only, by his car – the carabinieri arrived at the woman, who would be his lover for a few months and who is particularly recognizable for the platinum blonde that characterizes her hair. Once the suspects were identified, investigators and investigators began to keep an eye on them, continuing to collect evidence and clues that could frame them without the possibility of appeal.
The stake in the pilates studio
And just when they were now in their sights, on the evening of June 27, the two would strike again. This time, however, they would have focused their attention on the pilates studio which is located right next to the dentist and which is run by a 50-year-old with whom the professional had an extramarital affair for about ten years, until February 2021.
Their plan, however, failed in that case. The fuses placed outside the door that would then lead to the ignition with the petrol inside had gone out by themselves and the fire had never broken out.
At that point, also to avoid other raids, the carabinieri asked for – and obtained in record time – the handcuffs for both of them. On Thursday morning, at the time of the searches, the staircase used for the first blitz was found in the dentist’s office, who is a resident of Assago. From the lover’s house, on the other hand, the silicone gun, probably used to “plug” the door of the pilates center – to prevent the flames from spreading out – came out, the shoes and a clip that the woman wore during the first fire. The tank used to carry gasoline on the evening of June 27 was also found in the house: the same tank that the 64-year-old had filled in a petrol station in via Lodovido il Moro without knowing – again – that she was being filmed by the cameras.
According to what has been reconstructed by the investigations so far, it is likely that the fire in the gym – completely devastated – was used to bring down the price of the property and then buy it at a later time. The second stake, on the other hand, was in all likelihood an idea born to try to divert the investigation. Although it is not excluded that there was also some sentimental reason in the middle.
