RESANA. A life of ease, then the collapse: about ten years ago an inexorable downward trend began for Massimo Baggio, the 54-year-old from Resana who on 7 July “threatened” to blow himself up in front of the court in an attempt to prevent his home ended up at auction.
It is about thena beautiful villa in the hamlet of San Marco, admired and envied by all. As admired and envied was the success in economic terms that Baggio had achieved with his company, Max Autotrasporti based in the same building.
Its history is practically known to everyone in the neighborhood: his beginnings as a hauler, then the growth of the company with a dozen trucks parked to make a fine show of themselves when they were not wandering on the streets. IS a never hidden opulence, indeed it can be said more than exhibited: large-displacement cars and motorbikes and the latest model, clothes and fashion accessories from his wife’s brand from whom he divorced, in short, people who lived well.
But maybe also beyond their means, as more than anyone suspects. And that not even when things started to turn the wrong way, did he somehow try to restrain himself, ending up in a vortex that made everything disappear.. The differences with his wife are also practically in the public domain which then led to the separation.
July 7 the attempt to save what appears to be the ultimate safe haven: the home in San Marco now inhabited by the ex and her three minor children aged 9, 13 and 17. Apparently the auction would only partially cover the debts and non-payments to employees accrued in recent years. “
He didn’t know how to manage his business well, but above all the economic difficulties that began about ten years ago with the crisis – says those who know him – sorry for this situation, but in the face of unpaid supplies and more he had to think about it in time ».
July 7 the escalation to the court: for Baggio an attempt to save the roof under which family members live.
«It is not possible that three minors – reads the signs explaining his gesture – are frightened and threatened by commissioners appointed by the Treviso court who will soon be thrown out of their home where they were born and still live. It sucks that the most beautiful country in the world can do this to its citizens. As a divorced dad I appeal to the Italian communication system in such a way that clarity and justice are made of the situation in which my family finds itself. Tomorrow (July 8 for those who read, ed) the house where my three children live will be auctioned to be sold without giving me any chance to resolve the situation, throwing my ex-wife and our three children into the street. I ask in a peaceful way to stop the sale auction ».
Words that taste of despair, compared to a procedure started some time ago, but following difficulties that arose earlier.
