April persecutes and does not let the dictatorship sleep, this is how they will continue due to the resistance of the people

Former guerrilla and political prisoner, Dora María Téllez, continues to speak out against the oppressive regime of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega. In her latest editorial, Téllez highlighted the ongoing resistance of the Nicaraguan people and the lack of “peace” faced by the dictatorship.

Téllez criticized the regime for its attempts to build a false peace through repression, including arrests, persecution, harassment, and even murder. She emphasized that the Nicaraguan people are still fighting for freedom and democracy, and that true peace can only be achieved through these principles.

“The resistance of the Nicaraguan people has not ended,” Téllez stated. “As long as the regime continues to deny the people’s demands for freedom, democracy, and justice, no one in that regime will find peace.”

Téllez also called on the regime to release all political prisoners, of which there are over 138, and to stop living in fear of the Nicaraguan people. She warned that until the regime embraces democracy, no one within it will be able to sleep peacefully.

Meanwhile, Rosario Murillo, the Vice President of Nicaragua and wife of President Ortega, continues to defend the regime’s actions. In a recent statement, Murillo attacked the Nicaraguans who protested against the regime in 2018, calling them “garbage” and blaming external forces for the uprising.

Despite Murillo’s attempts to paint a picture of peace, the reality in Nicaragua remains one of ongoing resistance and repression. As Téllez continues to advocate for freedom and democracy, the Nicaraguan people’s fight for justice and change shows no signs of slowing down.
