Colombia’s largest airline announces the opening of flights to Montreal starting March 31
Avianca announced this Wednesday that as of March 31, it will begin operating a new route that will connect Bogotá with Montreal, thus adding to the already existing connection with Toronto.
Avianca’s Sales Director for Colombia and South America, David Alemán, stated: “We arrived in Canada a little more than two years ago with our operation to Toronto and today we are very happy to announce the landing of Avianca in Montreal since the end of March as the second destination in that country.”
The new route, which will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, will offer a total of 1,200 weekly seats on Airbus A320 aircraft, so Alemán highlighted that “More than 120,000 Colombians live in Canada today and more than 20,000 residents of Canada visit Colombia every year.” Consequently, Colombia’s largest airline hopes to promote tourism and business between the two countries.
Finally, the General Manager of the national civil aviation safety authority (Opain), Natalí Leal, celebrated the news and highlighted that with this new route, the El Dorado International Airport “establishes itself as one of the most important airports in Latin America.”
