As part of the celebrations for the bicentenary of the birth of the Turin Civic Fire Brigade, the provincial command agreed to the request of the delegation of the Italian Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta Environment Fund to open the headquarters in Corso Regina Margherita to the public and display vehicles and vintage equipment for the “FAI Spring Days”, in collaboration with the Turin section of the National Fire Brigades Association, with the Association for the History of the Fire Brigade and with the volunteers of the Historical Archive of the Command .
For the occasion, an exhibition was set up in a garage including vintage vehicles, hand pumps and historical equipment, with references to interventions, emergencies and other important events that characterized the history of the Turin firefighters and firefighters in these 200 years.
It was also possible to visit the chapel of Santa Barbara and San Francesco, see a modern fire engine and the Operations Room up close. There were over seven hundred visitors. The visits will continue tomorrow.
