The reporter saw on Lianhua Street that after the flood subsided, the streets were full of mud and houses. The people were wading through the silt that hadn’t passed their ankles to carry supplies, while trying to divert water to wash the furniture, and use a shovel to remove the silt in the house.
Local people Xu Hanying, whose younger brother runs a fruit shop facing the street, went out because of a temporary incident, and there was no one in the shop. The flood rushed through the rolling gates, “ransacked” fruits, freezers, and shelves in the store, and the kitchen in the backyard was also destroyed. She and her husband Gui Xingjiang didn’t care about taking care of their home, so they helped her brother clean up the silt in the house together. “Everyone has suffered a disaster. According to the Sui County People’s Government, as of 8 o’clock on the 12th, 78 people were rescued locally and more than 450 people were resettled.
