Gustavo Petro’s serious accusation against Ecopetrol

As usual, the President Gustavo Petro He continues to use his social networks to launch attacks against some of the business sectors in Colombia. Through his Twitter account, the president pointed out to Ecopetro that “allowing the paramilitaries to be financed with public resources, means that genocidal paramilitarism has been financed by the Colombian State.”

The accusations are supported by an investigation that was carried out after the testimony of Mancuso, one of the former paramilitary chiefs who in recent days has been in a series of hearings in which he is giving details that were presented in the midst of the conflict for the Special Peace Jurisdiction (SPJ).

“What Ecopetrol allowed to finance the paramilitaries with public resources, means that the genocidal paramilitarism has been financed by the Colombian State.

It was political power that the State used to carry out a war against the insurgency by killing large sectors of the Colombian citizenry.

They allowed drug trafficking to grow and hand them over to power to destroy the insurgency and social conflict.

This homicidal political power on a large scale and enriched by its alliance with the drug traffickers desperately seeks that the government of change does not end up having the next prosecutor’s office. They fear the truth and the destruction of impunity.

They believed that by handing over the military, the paramilitary chiefs and some small drug lords to justice would escape impunity.

All our support for the JEP and decent justice, all the power of the people to get out of impunity and corruption,” the president said on Twitter.

In the message, he also referenced one of the articles in Cambio Magazine, which describes what Mancuso said in one of his most recent interventions at the hearing where the truth is heard and recognized during the armed conflict in Colombia.
