PORDENONE. A fundraiser to help Giada and her children, the family of Marco Celant died in the factory in San Vito al Tagliamento. And a permanent solidarity fund for accidents at work. These are the two guidelines pursued and announced this morning, Monday 9 August, by the president of Confindustria Alto Adriatico, Michelangelo Agrusti.
On behalf of the associates, Agrusti gave Giada Fabiani, widow of Marco Celant – the 38-year-old who died last June 1 due to an accident at work in Anoxidall Spa in San Vito al Tagliamento – an important sum of money resulting from the collection of donations between companies, aimed at the maintenance, growth and education of the two children, aged 4 and 2. At the same time, a large company in the Pordenone area offered the lady a job in the times and methods that will be deemed most appropriate.

“We decided to meet today in this simple ceremony – said Agrusti – because only a few hours ago the 65th anniversary of the Marcinelle tragedy was celebrated, a paradigmatic event of what was, in some way, insecurity at work, when they died. 137 Italians out of the 225 total, many of them from Friuli. Precisely from that episode arose, at European level, the need to create a protection that gave effective impetus to some important measures. The reason we are here today, sadly, is the same – another work-related tragedy that has occurred in one of the nations with some of the most sophisticated safety laws in place. Obviously we need to do more ».
Precisely on this point Agrusti, who announced the creation of a permanent solidarity fund for the families of the victims of accidents at work (hoping that it will never be useful, he commented), recalled the constant commitment with the trade unions on the subject. safety at work which, with the pandemic emergency, has undergone a very strong acceleration. “The issue has always been among our priorities and precisely because of this – he added – we signed only a few days ago a new territorial agreement that mainly revolves around the figure of the Workers’ Safety Representative and which has among its objectives that to inaugurate an important awareness campaign called Zero deaths at work that will make it possible to quickly reach this goal in the Pordenone area. A culture of safety – it has been said – which will also involve schools where promotional initiatives will be carried out aimed at students so that upon their arrival at the factory they have already acquired this specific culture ».
An objective that can actually be pursued also according to Cristiano Pizzo of the CISL who, also on behalf of the other trade unions, addressed an affectionate greeting to the Celant family and thanked Confindustria Alto Adriatico for the donation, “concrete support – he said – which is flanked by that of the willingness to find a job for Giada ».
Antonio Di Bisceglie, mayor of San Vito al Tagliamento, also expressed his appreciation for “an initiative of such great concrete solidarity value, I believe it should be emphasized: for those who are protagonists, for all entrepreneurs who have wanted, in some way , take charge of the immediate future of the children by giving Giada elements of less pain, because the pain – added the mayor of San Vito al Tagliamento – is due to the loss but also to the new situation. Having been able to grasp this, on the part of Confindustria, is important ”
Words of condolence and closeness to the family were also expressed by the leaders of the Ponte Rosso Consortium, present in Confindustria with the President Renato Mascherin and the Director Daniele Gerolin. Also present is the property of Anoxidall Spa.
