During the ended hunting season, 268 moose were hunted in Läänemaa, although the hunting limit would allow 284 animals.
4,037 moose were hunted across Estonia, which is 164 less than the hunting council had predicted.
According to Olev Peetris, chairman of the Haapsalu hunting society, the same trend prevails in the area of the Haapsalu hunting society as in the rest of Estonia. “Our limit was 31 and 29 moose have been hunted. There are simply no animals,” said Peetris. Endrik Raun, chairman of the board of Läänemaa hunting club, stated that the same story is almost all over Läänemaa.
